Dear participant

Please find enclosed a stabilized whole blood sample number (xxx) tested negative for hepatitis and HIV

Specimen Type

Stabilized Human Whole blood (CPDA).

Specimen Storage

Whole blood specimens must be stored at 2–8°C.

Intended use:

EQAS ABO &Rh blood Control sample is intended for use as a quality control Clinical ABO &Rh blood to monitor the accuracy of ABO &Rh blood test procedures for the analytes present in tested sample.

Specimen Preparation

Allow EQAS sample tubes to reach room temperature (15–30 °C) before performing the assay with mixing for 10-15 min.

No sample preparation is required.

EQAS samples must be treated the same way as patient samples. Please refer to the package insert of the reagent blood group at your lab Kit

Procedures

Handling instructions: Following these simple instructions will ensure accurate EQAS results are obtained and the life of the control is extended.

  1. Remove tubes from the refrigerator and bring to room temperature (15-30°C) for 10-15 minutes before mixing.
  2. Hold the vial vertically and roll each vial between the palms of the hands for 25-30 seconds.
  3. Continue to mix by rapidly inverting the vial end-over-end using a rapid turning motion of the wrist. Continue to mix in this manner until the red cells are completely suspended. Mix vigorously, but do not shake. Tubes stored for a long time may require extra mixing.
  4. Analyze immediately after mixing. If not immediately tested, invert the tube 8-10 times again before sampling.

After analysis, clean the cap and tube rim with a lint-free tissue. Replace the cap tightly.

Perform ABO &Rh testing by your routine methods during your normal workload
